I've always been a keen photographer, but that has mainly meant taking family and holiday pictures with a camera that was too expensive for what I was doing.
A long time ago I dabbled with b&w processing and printing, but found it tedious with very variable results. The arrival of digital cameras and computer manipulation has meant that I can now control the picture outcome to a degree that would have been unthinkable ten years ago.
A lot of my pictures are straight photographs with a little more manipulation than would have been possible with wet processing, but I have some which have been changed dramatically, and in this way I try to make average quality photographs into acceptable pictures.
The objective is to produce pleasing pictures, without too much concern about how far I have moved from the photograph taken.
